Education & Training

We offer a wide range of educational formats designed to support blind and visually impaired individuals in developing their personal skills, gaining greater independence in daily life, and participating actively in society. We place particular emphasis on practical content, individual support, and barrier-free access to education.
At the same time, our programs are also aimed at people without visual impairments who are interested in topics related to blindness and visual impairment. As part of our awareness-raising efforts, we create spaces that foster understanding of different lived experiences and promote inclusive perspectives.
Our educational formats are tailored to various age groups and target audiences – from young adults and students, for example through our international Summer School, to older individuals for whom we offer specialized workshops. These customized learning opportunities allow us to address specific needs and life situations while creating lasting educational experiences.
In the submenus, you will find detailed information about our educational programs:
Workshops: Using Digital Devices
Our workshops are specifically tailored to the needs of people who are blind or visually impaired. In small groups, guided by several trainers, participants learn to confidently and safely use smartphones and tablets.
Core topics include:
- Screen readers and font adjustment settings
- Apps and software for people with visual impairments
- Practical exercises with personal devices
- Raising awareness of data security and risks in the digital space
The workshops not only provide technical knowledge but also create a safe environment for exchange, practice, and collaborative learning.
Summer School
The topic of accessibility is still not a mandatory part of the curricula at many universities. Yet future leaders and professionals should already be made aware of this important issue during their studies. The knowledge and awareness of each individual are key to creating a barrier-free future.
This is exactly why the Summer School was established: to provide students with early access to knowledge, hands-on experience, and awareness around accessibility.
Our Accessible Barrier-Free Inclusive Cross-Border Public Transport Summer School offers students from across Europe an intensive, hands-on learning format. It combines expert lectures, interactive workshops, and self-experience activities with a focus on accessibility and inclusive mobility.
Together with experts and people with disabilities, students develop innovative solutions for a barrier-free future in public transport.
